EP type balancer is an accessory used for measuring liquid level. When measuring the liquid level of low-pressure vessels, EP-64A single-layer balancer is used; When measuring the water level of the boiler drum, EP-64B double-layer balancer should be used.

Working principle

When measuring the liquid level of low-pressure vessels, if there is a large temperature difference between the inside and outside of the vessel, or if the gas phase is prone to condense into liquid, EP-64A single-layer balancer should be used for measurement. Fill the balancer with isolation fluid with a density of ρ₂.
At this point, the pressure difference △ P that the transmitter is subjected to is ρ₁(H+h₁+h₂)-ρ₂h ₃=ρ₁H-(ρ₂h₃-ρ₁h₁-ρ₁h₃）In the equation (ρ)₂h₃-ρ₁h ₁-ρ₁h₂）It is a constant value, and the migration spring on the transmitter can balance this constant value. Therefore, the output pressure of the transmitter is generally related to the variation of the measurement signal (H).
When measuring the water level of the boiler drum, EP-64B double-layer balancer should be used (see Figure 3). At this time, the balancer (1) is connected to the steam part inside the water drum, and the water level pipe (2) is connected to the water part inside the water drum, with its water level being the same as the water level inside the water drum. The water level inside the balancer (1) remains constant and is connected to the low-pressure side of the transmitter (compensating for the negative migration of the transmitter), and the water level pipe is connected to the high-pressure side of the transmitter. When the pressure and temperature of the steam are constant, the output pressure of the transmitter is generally related to the change in water level, but not to the height of the condensate in the steam side pressure pipe.

Structural characteristics

The EP-64A single-layer balancer is a container with three joints, which is relatively simple.
The EP-64A double-layer balancer has a balancer section and a water level pipe, with 2 steam shut-off valves.
